Do Something

(June 18, 2014)

Go forth and turn your when into NOW. Turn your intentions into ACTION. Focus on prayer, focus on people, and focus on purpose.

When I find myself distressed, upset, frazzled, unfocused, discontent, wavering in faith, restless or in conflict over a decision I try to remember to be still and turn to the Word.

Today, at lunch, I did just that and ended up randomly opening the Bible

and reading what was presented to me; I ended up in the book of Matthew.

As I was reading it, I found myself questioning why God, if He was so great, didn't just DO something, why He didn't just fix it or make everything better, not just for me but for everyone who ailed and for all the world's ailments.

Then, as I kept reading, I realized God already did do something: He created me. And you. Us.

He has laid out clearly that we are the salt of the Earth, the light of the world. We should be the beacon on a hill and let our light shine on the world.

That's what he did.

He created me. He created you. We must go forth and walk by faith and know that if we seek, we shall find. We will be rewarded.

*shrug*

Just my thoughts. I'll close with James 4:17: "So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin."
